What We Do

Three cost-free programs are available to families throughout Michigan.

Cowboy Camp Outs

Camp Casey’s Cowboy Camp Outs provide a series of overnight stays at dude ranch resorts throughout the country.  Up to three times each summer, families are selected to vacation at a convenient horse-themed resort.

Planning and expenses associated with the trip are completely subsidized by Camp Casey. Families simply pack, show up and have a great time! To apply, email Molly.

Horsey House Calls

Camp Casey’s Horsey House Calls program enables families to horse around in their own backyards! We take our pony show on the road by bringing a horse, arts and craft supplies and food for a two-hour visit from Camp Casey.

Oftentimes, Horsey House Calls are orchestrated with parents but kept secret from the children, making our visit a fun surprise.  Horsey House Calls make for great post-treatment celebration parties, birthday surprises or are simply a way to cheer up children who could use a day of fun.

Families can schedule a horsey house call by emailing Amy.

Buckaroo Outings

Camp Casey’s Buckaroo Outings offer a series of cost-free outings across Michigan.  Activities include (but are not limited to) outings to: professional sports games, theater performances, apple orchards, pumpkin patches, sleigh rides, ice skating rinks, museums, bowling parties and movie theaters. At a typical Camp Casey outreach event, campers and their families enjoy the planned activity along with meals that comply with dietary restrictions, safe transportation (when applicable), and trained volunteers serving as positive mentors to the children and their families.

Each outreach event caters to approximately 20 participants. Camp Casey accepts families on a first come, first served basis. To participate in a Camp Casey Outreach Event, email Lauren.

Note From the Founder

My most profound thanks to you for taking interest in Camp Casey! It is my biggest passion and I am certain that you will learn to love it as much as I do! It is strange to think that in 2004, while attending Michigan State University, I started Camp Casey with the intent of it being a one-time gig!

Now, with a Camp Casey site next to nearly every Michigan cancer center, it has truly grown leaps and bounds and taken my own life in a new (and wonderful) direction. Please use this site as tool to learn more about our program and how you can get involved! With your help, we can realize Camp Casey’s potential and expand our program to children nationwide!

 Sincerely,
